Bio

Spencer Meade (he/they) is a stand up, comedy writer, and performer based in Brooklyn, NY. He’s trained in improvisation, sketch, satire writing, and characters at The Upright Citizens Brigade, Second City, and The Annoyance.

They created, produce, and serve as head writer for Queer Window (NY Comedy Festival), an all-LGBTQIA+ sketch show that ran for a year and a half at Squirrel Comedy Theater and currently runs at Brooklyn Comedy Collective. They also wrote sketch as part of the Boogiemanja team Hot Spy, were the head writer for multiple sketch teams at The Armory, toured the northeast with their improv team Bad People, and their musical comedy one-person show “Spencer Meade Is A Villain” ran at the People’s Improv Theater and The Tank.

Spencer currently contributes to The Onion’s Sports section and his satirical writing can be seen in McSweeneys, Awf Magazine, Broadway Beat, Slackjaw, and Points in Case.

When not writing or performing, Spencer can be seen walking their corgi or being an actual attorney.
